Fresh Berry French Toast

Ingredients: 

  • 1 Sourdough Loaf
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 Tsp cinnamon
  • 1 Tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 Cup brown sugar
  • 1 Tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 Cup alternative milk
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • Fresh strawberries
  • Fresh blueberries
  • Maple syrup
  • 1 Lemon
  • Powdered sugar (for garnish)
  • Mint (for garnish)

Directions: 

  1. Slice your sourdough loaf into 1/2 inch slices and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl add your eggs, nutmeg, cinnamon, brown sugar, vanilla, milk, and whisk vigorously until combined. Then dip your sliced sourdough into the mixture being sure to coat thoroughly.
  3. Bring a nonstick pan up to medium heat and add the butter. Once the butter is melted thoroughly add in your french toast and allow to brown on both sides before removing from heat.
  4. Place your french toast on a plate and dust with powdered sugar. Slice your strawberries in half and scatter the blueberries atop the toast. Slap the mint to release the oils and garnish atop your toast. Top the French toast with maple syrup and grate fresh lemon to add a beautiful citrus hint.
  5. Lastly serve and enjoy your perfect French toast!
